Abdul Latif's Story

Abdul Latif needs your help to recover from the burns he sustained a few months ago. He is a father who wishes to live a normal life again and provide for his family. We urge you to donate for Abdul’s Contracture Release.

Abdul Latif, a 45-year-old resident of Lahore, went through a tragedy ten months ago when his house caught fire due to gas leakage. Abdul burnt his arms and face severely. People took him to the hospital and the doctor removed the dead skin by several surgeries. The doctor discharged him with symptomatic treatment. Upon re-consultation and workup, he was diagnosed with left hand Contracture. The doctor advised Left hand Contracture Release and Split Skin Grafting (SSG). A split skin graft (SSG) is where a very thin shaving of normal, healthy skin is used to cover an area of skin that has been damaged. His first surgery for his Right hand contracture release was done with Transparent Hands’ assistance and now he has come to us for his second surgery.

Abdul was working as a shoe maker and earning PKR 24,000 a month. But, due to the contracture in his hand, he his unable to work properly and earn to put food on his table. They live in a rented house and with a family of three to provide for. It is impossible for Abdul to arrange the hefty amount for his procedure. Abdul shared his distress with us in the following manner:

“I never thought that my life would turn upside down like this. I have a daughter who has her whole life ahead of her and I am responsible to provide for her. This mishap has affected my work and we are living in very difficult conditions. Transparent Hands has helped me before and I have placed my hopes in their hands again. Please help them help me.”
