Anum Naaz's Story

Twenty-four years old Anum had been suffering from fatigue, unexplained weight loss and severe pain in the abdominal area. Upon diagnostic tests and MRI, Anum was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer. Rectal cancer is cancer that begins in the rectum- the final segment of the colon which works as a reservoir for stool. Doctors have recommended chemotherapy for Fozia’s cancer treatment. She needs a total of twelve cycles of therapy. Anum has exhausted all her financial resources in acquiring the first six cycles. Now, it says on her reports that she must continue with the therapy. Therefore, she needs our help for the rest of them.
Unfortunately, Anum cannot afford the cost of her chemotherapy. Anum is financially dependent on her father and brother. Her father has retired and her brother is the sole earner of the family. He works on daily wages and hardly earns PKR 20,000 per month. In this measly income, he is in no way able to afford the expense of her sister’s chemotherapy. Anum told us:
“Cancer may have started the fight but I will finish it. I know things are not looking too great right now, speaking from a financial perspective. But I have put my faith in the right kind of people at Transparent Hands. I know in my heart that kind ones still roam our world and it is those of you whom I have the highest hopes from.”

Anum Naaz's Story
Anum Naaz, a 24-year-old resident of Kasur, was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer. She was operated on and advised 12 sessions of chemotherapy after the surgery. Hence, she was sent to LifeCare Hospital for her procedures. Five out of twelve Chemo Cycles were done by Dr. Imtiaz Randhawa, starting from 02-06-21 to 27-10-21. Anum is now recovering and looks forward to a cancer-free life.
