Muhammad Saif's Story

Seeing little ones suffer is one of the most painful things one can experience as a human being and 11-year-old Muhammad Saif’s story is just as sad as things get. Saif underwent an initial surgery at 1.5 years of age in which an ileostomy stoma was made because of an extremely painful condition called midgut volvulus. Now he needs an ileostomy reversal surgery to rejoin his intestine which was divided and taken out in his first surgery.

In an ileostomy, the damaged part of the ileum is removed. Then, the end which was cut is diverted into an artificial opening in the abdominal wall. Saif has been advised an ileostomy reversal surgery to close the previously made ileostomy stoma but his family is unable to afford it. You see, Saif’s family is going through a financial crisis right now. Managing funds for this surgery is just not on the cards, no matter how hard Ibrahim, the father, tries!

“Farming is how we manage our life. But of late, things have been on a downside, all I am making right now is even less than 25,000 PKR per month. And I have a seven-membered family to manage! I am left with only two choices: watch my son suffer or hope that the kind donors at Transparent Hands will do something for my boy. And I am opting for the latter over the former”

Ibrahim and Saif are putting a lot of faith in Transparent Hands and we are not going to disappoint them. But we need your help as well. You know the patient, you know the story. All that is left for you to do is DONATE for Muhammad Saif’s Ileostomy NOW!

Muhammad Saif's Story

11-year-old Muhammad Saif’s laparotomy was performed and he was diagnosed with midgut volvulus at 1.5 years of age. His ileostomy stoma was made at that time. The doctors later recommended an ileostomy reversal surgery. For this reason, Saif was admitted in Akram Medical Complex and his surgery was performed by Dr. Muhammad Bilal Mirza on 15.12.2020. He stayed in the hospital for two days and was discharged in a stable condition. Saif has started going back to school since he has recovered completely from his surgery.
