Faisal Khan 's Story

Faisal was born with heart defects. The doctor has advised Rastelli surgery, but his parents cannot afford to pay for it due to financial constraints. We urge you to come forward and donate for Faisal’s rastelli surgery to give him another chance to live with a healthy heart.

Eight-year-old Faisal Khan, a resident of Buner, has been suffering from shortness of breath, cyanosis, and repeated episodes of chest pain. His parents learned about his condition when he was five months old and took him to the local hospital. After a thorough evaluation and some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with multiple heart conditions, including pulmonary atresia (PA) and a ventricular septal defect (VSD). His first surgery for a left-sided Blalock-Taussig (BT) shunt was performed at the age of one to connect the subclavian artery (a smaller artery that comes off of the aorta) to the pulmonary artery, which helps increase blood flow to the lungs. Recently, he visited the cardiologist for a follow-up visit. The cardiac surgeon advised him to undergo a Rastelli operation to give him a chance at a healthy life.

He lives with his parents and four siblings. His father is the only earning hand and earns just PKR 22,500 per month. He is not in a stable financial situation to pay for the cardiac surgery. He said in despair:

“My dear son is fighting for his life, and only your donations can give him a chance to recover from his heart condition.”

Faisal’s parents reached out to us, and we registered his case. However, we need donations to provide him with open-heart surgery. His parents have exhausted all other options and have placed their hopes in your hands. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference in this young boy’s life. Please donate for Faisal’s Rastelli surgery and help us save his life.

Recently, he visited the cardiologist for a follow-up visit. The cardiac surgeon advised him to undergo a Rastelli operation to give him a chance at a healthy life. His family turned to Transparent Hands in their time of need for financial assistance to make the surgery possible.

Faisal was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore, where his operation was performed by Dr. Asim on 7-04-2023. The surgery was a resounding success, and after a seven-day stay at the hospital, the child was discharged, much to the relief and joy of his parents. During the stay, he was provided with a separate room and free medicines. All the hospital staff was cooperative, and the specialized medical staff gave him the best possible medical care.

This surgery was made possible with the support of the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation and other generous donors. The moment his parents witnessed their beloved son's remarkable recovery, their hearts were filled with gratitude. The surgery not only saved his life but also opened up a whole new world of opportunities for him. With his health restored, he can now enjoy a childhood free of the constraints that once plagued him. Donate Online to help more patients like Faisal.
