Fateh Khan, a 56-year-old resident of Bajaur Agency, KPK, experienced severe pain and swelling in his legs. The doctor prescribed some medicines. But, with time, the pain shifted in his right hip. His son took him to a local hospital. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis of the right femoral neck. It is the death of bone tissue due to a loss of blood supply. It mostly affects the femur bone, and if it goes untreated, it may collapse the joint. The doctor advised total hip replacement surgery on the right side. It is a surgical procedure in which the damaged bone and cartilage are removed and replaced with prosthetic components.

Fateh Khan lives in a small house with his wife and two children. His son is a laborer who is the sole earner in the family. He earns just PKR 18,000 per month. Due to financial constraints, his son cannot afford to pay for his father’s surgical expenses.

His son said in despair:

“I am extremely worried and stressed about my father’s health. I want him to be able to walk freely without any pain, but I cannot afford to pay for the surgery. Help us in this challenging time.”

Fateh Khan, a 56-year-old resident of Bajaur Agency, KPK, had been suffering from pain and swelling in his right hip joint for five years. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis of the hip. The doctor advised him to undergo the right Total Hip Replacement. He was admitted to Akbar Medical Complex, where his operation was performed by Dr.Khurram on 22-09-2022. His operation was successful and he was discharged after three days of stay in the hospital. He got his mobility back.
