Gulshan Bibi's Story

Before you dive into Gulshan Bibi’s tale of woes, please know that you can help her. Your donation, however small it may be, will change Gulshan’s life for the better. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Gulshan’s VVF Repair as much as you can.

For the last three years, Gulshan Bibi has been suffering from VVF. VVF is an abnormal fistulous tract extending between the bladder and the vagina that allows the continuous involuntary discharge of urine into the vaginal vault. In addition to the medical sequelae from these fistulas, they often have a profound effect on the patient’s emotional well-being.

To treat this condition, the doctor has advised Gulshan Bibi to undergo a VVF Repair. It is a surgery to remove the damaged part of the bladder. Healthy tissue is moved between the bladder and the other organ to block the opening.

Unfortunately, Gulshan and his husband cannot afford the hefty cost of a VVF Repair surgery. Gulshan’s husband is the sole earner of the family. He works at a poultry shop on daily wages and hardly manages to earn PKR 600 per day. With this income, he barely manages to run the household. With a family of seven to raise, he is in no position to arrange for his wife’s surgery. Gulshan’s husband told us:

“Even if I save for an entire lifetime, I won’t be able to save enough for my wife’s surgery. We are extremely distressed. Whoever is reading this, I request you to please help me and my wife.”

After a lot of mental distress, as per their doctor’s suggestion, Gulshan Bibi’s husband has registered her case with Transparent Hands. We have assured him that we would arrange Gulshan’s surgery as soon as possible. But, that won’t be possible without your help. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Gulshan’s VVF Repair as much as you can.
