Three years old Hasnain Raza suffers from a condition known as bilateral cryptorchidism aka undescended testis. At first, his parents were not aware of his disease. Due to his continuous crying and abdominal discomfort, his parents took him to the hospital. After examination, the doctors diagnosed him with undescended testis. This condition arises when a testicle doesn’t move into its proper position. Fortunately, there does exist a treatment for Hasnain Raza’s problem. It is known as a bilateral Orchidopexy. Orchidopexy is a surgical procedure that is performed to position an undescended testicle into its proper place.
Orchidopexy is an easy solution to Hasnain Raza’s condition. However, it is not an accessible one. Unfortunately, Hasnain Raza’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery. His father is the sole earner of the family. He works as a hawker and hardly earns PKR 15000 per month. This meagre income is barely enough to put food on the table, let alone cover the cost of a major surgical procedure. Hasnain Raza’s distressed mother told us:
“We did not know what was wrong with our son. He kept crying and pointing towards his stomach. We thought it was just a minor stomach ache, but alas! It turned out to be so much more. The only thing standing between my son and the treatment he needs is financial constraints.”

Hasnain Raza's Story
Hasnain Raza, aged 3 years, was born with an unusual swelling on the right side of his groin region and was missing both testes from his scrotum. On medical consultation, the doctor diagnosed his swelling as right inguinal hernia. Moreover, his urethral condition was diagnosed as bilateral retractile testis. The surgeon advised surgical correction of Hasnain’s hernia first. For this purpose, he was admitted to Akram Medical Complex and his herniotomy was performed by Dr. M. Bilal Mirza on 20.04.2021. He stayed in the hospital for one day and was discharged in a stable condition. Hasnain’s parents are beyond grateful for the successful surgery of their son.
