Imtiaz Bibi's Story
Imtiaz Bibi, a 55-year-old resident of Lahore, is experiencing abdominal pain and swelling around the umbilicus. She has been living with a lump in the umbilical region for the past 10 years. Concerned about her condition, she sought the advice of a general surgeon, who recommended further tests and an ultrasound. The diagnosis revealed a Paraumbilical hernia, and the doctor recommended a mesh hernioplasty as the appropriate surgical procedure.
Imtiaz Bibi is a housewife, and her husband works as a daily wage laborer, earning approximately PKR 30,000 per month. They reside in their own house in Lahore, along with their two children who are currently studying in school. As the sole breadwinner, Imtiaz Bibi’s husband shoulders the responsibility of paying utility bills amounting to PKR 1,200, daily expenses, and school fees totaling PKR 3,000.
Imtiaz Bibi said it with teary eyes:
“I have been enduring severe discomfort caused by my hernia, and it has significantly hindered my ability to carry out my daily responsibilities and care for my family. Despite my best efforts to manage the condition, it has been progressively worsening, and I am now in desperate need of financial assistance to afford the surgery that can provide a lasting solution.”
