Iram Bibi's Story

Seven years old Iram Bibi was a mere ten months old when she was taken to the hospital due to acute cough and a sudden attack of breathlessness. Upon check-up, she was found to have a congenital heart disease Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). A patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is an abnormal communication between the aorta and pulmonary artery that allows for oxygenated (red) blood to pass into the lungs. The news of Iram Bibi’s congenital heart disease played havoc with her parents’ heartstrings. They were distressed beyond belief. They circled back and forth to several hospitals in search of treatment.

Later, after seeing the reports of Iram Bibi’s chest X-ray, ECG and ECHO, the cardiologist advised some medicines and regular check-up. The medicines failed to provide permanent relief. The cardiologist told Iram Bibi’s parents that PDA device occlusion procedure is the last hope for her survival.

Iram’s father works manual labour with a construction contractor to feed his family of seven members. He earns a measly income of PKR 14000 per month. He is in no position to bear the household expenses. Let alone the cost of his daughter’s treatment.

“Iram is my firstborn, the apple of my eye. It kills me to see her suffer like this but I have tried every possible source of help without any success. Now I’m at my wit’s end. Transparent Hands is my only hope now.” -Iram Bibi’s father

Iram’s parents have approached Transparent Hands to request urgent help. Iram Bibi was a brilliant 4th grader until her condition worsened and the doctor prohibited her school activities due to the exertion it caused. We are determined to help Iram Bibi get right back to school but it will not be possible without your kind financial help. Please donate for Iram Bibi’s cardiac procedure to put her life out of danger.
