Kalsoom Bibi, a 32-year-old resident of Karachi, is expecting her first baby. Upon a routine checkup during her seventh month of pregnancy, the doctor told her that she has polyhydramnios and ran some diagnostic tests, including CBC and Urine examination. The doctor also prescribed medicines for one month. After a month, she returned to the doctor and was advised to undergo C-Section to avoid risks and complications.
Kalsoom lives in a small rented house with six family members. She earns just PKR 20,000 per month. She cannot afford to pay for her surgical expenses due to financial constraints. The financial burden also affects her baby’s health as she needs to take care of her diet and medicines.
She shared her heart-wrenching story:
“I have a lot of financial burdens on my shoulders. I’m struggling hard for my family in this condition. I am not able to take care of my diet and afford the prescribed medicines with my limited income. I cannot pay for my Caesarean Section in this difficult financial situation. I request all donors to help me bring a healthy child into this world. “

Kalsoom Bibi's Story
Kulsoom Bibi, a 32-year-old woman from the small village of Surjani Town in Karachi, was faced with a difficult situation. Belonging to a poor family, she was 7 months pregnant and in dire need of a Caesarean section, but could not afford the cost of the surgery. Her only hope was Transparent Hands, a renowned NGO in Pakistan that provides free medical camps and surgeries to underprivileged communities.
Kulsoom approached Transparent Hands, who immediately took action and arranged for her to be admitted to United Hospital on November 12th. There, she was under the care of Dr. Saba Pario, a highly skilled and experienced surgeon who performed the C-section. On November 12th, Kulsoom gave birth to a healthy baby boy. She and her baby both recovered well and were discharged from the hospital on November 14th, 2022.
Kulsoom and her family were overjoyed with the successful delivery and couldn't express their gratitude enough to Transparent Hands for their help. She shared that without the support of Transparent Hands, she would have been unable to afford the surgery and may not have been able to have a safe delivery.
