Khadija Sabir's Story

Before you dive into Khadija’s tale of woes, please know that you can help her. Your donation, however small it may be, will ensure safety to Khadija and her baby’s life. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Khadija’s C-section as much as you can. 

Twenty-two years old Khadija Sabir is currently eight months pregnant. Previously, she had delivered her first child through a C-section. But, unfortunately, the child could not survive due to congenital abnormalities. Now, the gynaecologist has advised Khadija to undergo a C-section. In this surgical procedure, the surgeon makes an incision a little above the urinary bladder’s connection with the uterus to deliver the child. 

Unfortunately, Khadija Sabir cannot afford the hefty cost of this procedure. Khadija Sabir is a housewife and does not earn for herself. Therefore, her husband is the sole earner of the family. He works in the police force and hardly earns PKR 28,000 per month. In this meagre income, he is in no position to arrange for his wife’s C section. He told us:

“I am a mixture of very happy and very sad right now. On one hand, I am excited to welcome another baby into our family, and on the other hand, I am stricken by fear and worry. What if we are not able to raise funds till then? I do not want history to repeat itself. I do not want my child to die at the hands of poverty.”
