Maryam Rafaqat's Story
Before you proceed to read the details of Maryam’s ailment, please know that you can help her. Your donation, however small it may be, will relieve Maryam of her pain. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Maryam’s Herniotomy as much as you can.
For the last two months, Maryam Rafaqat has been suffering from a lump in her left groin. The lump was present since her birth, but it developed and became painful over time. When the pain persisted, Maryam’s parents took her to a hospital. After testing and thorough investigation, the doctor told them that Maryam Rafaqat suffers from a left inguinal hernia, a condition that comes with too much pain for anyone, let alone a child. It is not as if the condition has developed all of a sudden. But, Maryam has been suffering from her condition since her birth. For those who don’t know much about hernias, an inguinal hernia refers to a protrusion of abdominal contents through the inguinal canal. The consequences of this include constant stretch and pain.
To treat this condition, the doctor has advised Maryam to undergo a Herniotomy. A Herniotomy is the easiest way of removing a hernia sac, a surgery that can put Maryam’s misery to an end. But unfortunately, Maryam’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery. Her father is the sole earner of the family. He is a labourer and hardly earns PKR 15000 per month. Therefore, he is in no way able to arrange for his daughter’s surgery. He told us:
“It hurts me to see my beloved daughter in pain. I wish no father has to go through what I am going through.”
After a lot of distress, Maryam’s parents have registered her case with Transparent Hands. Your donation, however small it may be, will change Maryam’s life for good. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Maryam’s Herniotomy. Donate now!
