Muhammad Abdullah Zahid's Story

Muhammad Abdullah Zahid, 33, hails from Multan. He suffers from cataract in his left eye. A simple statement but one that makes Abdullah scared about his future! There is no gift like the gift of sight in this world. Abdullah first felt his eyesight weaken almost five months ago. Normally, he would have ignored it, but the blinding nature of the pain made Abdullah visit the doctor. A visit which revealed that Abdullah had a cataract and was at risk of losing his eyesight forever.

It is not as if all hope is lost for Abdullah. A surgical procedure called phacoemulsification can certainly resolve the issue here. It is also the treatment that Abdullah has been advised. The natural lens is emulsified in this procedure, which is then replaced with an artificial lens. Sounds easy but about as complex a procedure as it gets! Why Abdullah hasn’t gone for this surgical procedure yet is because of the unavailability of the required funds.

“I am 33 and I have been jobless for three years now. I have a kid of my own, I should be the one bringing money home. But it is my father who is working all day for a mere 700 PKR. Asking for a surgical procedure, that ensures my vision will remain intact, just doesn’t feel right. So the one who is reading this, yes you, I am asking your help even if I don’t know you”-Muhammad Abdullah Zahid

Abdullah has put his faith in Transparent Hands and we are not going to disappoint him. But we can’t do it alone, we need your help to raise enough funds for Abdullah. So, please donate for his Phacoemulsification surgery. A father needs your help!
