Muhammad Kadeer's Story
Muhammad Kadeer, a two years old boy from Lahore is suffering from a lump in his right groin since birth. Upon medical examination, the doctors diagnosed him with right Inguinal Hernia. An Inguinal Hernia occurs when tissue, such as a part of the intestine, protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. The said bulge is painful while coughing and straining. Though Inguinal Hernia isn’t necessarily dangerous, it requires due treatment as it may lead to life-threatening complications. Inguinal Hernia repair, that is a common surgical procedure termed, Herniotomy, is advised by the doctors. Herniotomy is carried out under general anaesthesia. A small incision is made in the groin on the side of the hernia after which the hernial contents are pushed back and the defect is fixed. Now that Muhammad Kadeer is expected to undergo Herniotomy, financial constraint is hindering his way to a healthy life. His father shares their story in the following words:
“I suffer from polio. I work as a security guard and earn PKR. 17,000 per month. We saw an unusual swelling in Kadeer’s abdomen after birth. We took him to the hospital and the doctors said that due to his age, the operation will be delayed till one year. We visited the hospitals again after one year, but due to COVID the surgeries were delayed till an indefinite period. We can not afford treatment at a private hospital. I am living in my father’s house with my wife and five children. I have to provide for them and in these circumstances I couldn’t produce money for the surgical procedure. We felt helpless. By Almighty’s grace a doctor connected us with Transparent Hands. Visiting Transparent Hands has shown me a ray of hope.”
Luckily, now that Muhammad Kadeer and his family have been connected with Transparent Hands, you can make this procedure possible. Generously, Donate for Muhammad Kadeer’s Herniotomy, and assist him in cherishing his life with his siblings and friends.
