Nawab Zada's Story

Before we go into the heart-wrenching details of Nawab Zada’s ailments, please know that only your financial support can help us keep his heart beating. Even your little donations go a long way. Therefore, we request you to donate for Nawab’s open-heart surgery.

For the last two years, 25-year-old Nawab Zada has been suffering from acute chest pains and fatigue even after minor exertions. Upon consultation and ECHO tests, the cardiologist diagnosed him with a life-threatening atrial septal defect. ASD is a hole in the wall between the two upper chambers of the heart.

Consequently, an atrial septal defect can cause blood to flow backwards into the right side of the heart and cause increased lung pressure. Moreover, he also suffers from APVR. Anomalous pulmonary venous return (APVR) is a rare heart defect that occurs when the pulmonary veins fail to form. Over time, Nawab Zada’s condition can damage blood vessels in the lungs and result in congestive heart failure. To fix this defect the cardiologist has advised an open heart surgery for correction.

Unfortunately, Nawab’s family cannot afford the hefty cost of open heart surgery. Nawab’s father has passed away and the responsibility of the household is on his brother’s shoulders. He works as a laborer and hardly earns PKR 10,000 per month. He told us:

“I love my brother so much and cannot bear to see him in this condition. It’s as if he has taken our father’s death to his heart.”

He reached out to Transparent Hands and we have registered his case. We are determined to get Nawab Zada healthy as soon as possible but it is only possible through your support. Generous donors like you help us save the lives of deserving patients across the country. Please donate for Nawab’s open heart surgery and help us keep his heart beating. Save a young man’s life.

Nawab Zada, a 22-year-old resident of Upper Dir, had been suffering from chest pain and breathlessness for the past two years. The doctor diagnosed him with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) after a consultation. For ASD closure, the doctor recommended open-heart surgery. On 02-04-2022, he went to Ittefaq Hospital for the procedure, which was performed by Dr. Muhammad Asim Khan. He was admitted to the hospital for five days and discharged in good health. The surgery was performed in collaboration with the Children's Heart Foundation of Pakistan. Nawab now sees a bright future ahead of him.
