Noor Fatima's Story

Before you dive into the sorry tale of Noor Fatima’s illness, we want to remind you that you can help her. Your donation goes a long way. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Noor’s open-heart surgery. It will help us save an innocent life.

Nine years old Noor Fatima suffered from cyanosis and recurrent high fevers since birth. When these symptoms persisted, her parents immediately took her to the hospital. After a thorough examination and ECHO test, the doctors diagnosed her with AVSD. An atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) is a heart defect in which there are holes between the chambers of the right and left sides of the heart. Apart from that, the valves that control the flow of blood between these chambers are distorted.

To treat these conditions, the cardiologist immediately advised an open-heart surgery and to close her AVSD. Unfortunately, Noor Fatima’s parents could not afford the surgery so they resorted to medication to control the symptoms. Now, the surgery has become crucial for Noor Fatima. But, her father still cannot afford the hefty cost of open-heart surgery. Noor’s father is the sole earner of the family. He works as a driver and hardly earns PKR 15000 per month. In these circumstances, he is in no position to bear the cost of expensive open-heart surgery.

“Noor means brightness and light. Just like her name, my daughter is the light of my eyes. My daughter is hanging between life and death. Our days and nights are filled with fear and uncertainty. We don’t know what to do anymore.”

As a last resort, Noor’s parents have registered her case with Transparent Hands. We have assured them that we would try our best to treat it as soon as possible. Therefore, we request you to donate for Noor’s open-heart surgery as much as you can.
