Sheraz Shabbir Ahmed, a seven-year-old resident of Hyderabad, Sindh has been suffering since his birth. He has been enduring pain in testis while urinating since he was born. When Sheraz was five years old, he was taken to a local clinic where he was prescribed symptomatic treatment but it did not bring him any relief. Upon further evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Sheraz with Right Hydrocele. A hydrocele is a type of swelling in the scrotum that occurs when fluid collects in the thin sheath surrounding a testicle. As a lasting cure, the doctor advised Sheraz to undergo a Ligation of Patent Processus Vaginalis. Ligation of Patent Processus Vaginalis (PPV) is the name of the operation used to treat a Hydrocele and Hernia in a young child.

Sheraz’s father works as a laborer and earns PKR 12,000 a month. With this meager income, it is impossible for them to afford the cost of this procedure. He has a large family to support. Sheraz’s father shared his ordeal with us in the following manner:

“We kept seeing our son suffering from this disease but we were helpless. I kept praying for a miracle and asked the Almighty to help my son. Then, I got to know about Transparent Hands. We have all our hopes tied with this organization. ”

Sheraz, a seven-year-old resident of Hyderabad, was suffering from pain while urinating. Upon medical evaluation, he was diagnosed to have been suffering from a right hydrocele. He was advised by his urologist to undergo PPV ligation. For this purpose, he was admitted to ISRA Hospital where Dr. Rajab performed his PPV ligation on 22.02.2022. Sheraz was discharged from the hospital after two days of stay. He is in good health now.
