Umar Hayat's Story

Fifty-six years old Umar Hayat hails from the Karak district of the country and suffers from a Ischemic heart disease. This is a severe form of coronary artery disease commonly dubbed as CAD. More often than not, plaque formation damages the blood vessels, hence the blood flow is impeded in all three major heart arteries, thereby necessitating a CABG. CABG refers to coronary artery bypass grafting, a surgical procedure used for bypassing the aforementioned blockage. While a CABG improves the quality of life of a cardiac patient, it is an expensive surgical procedure nevertheless. One that Umar finds himself currently unable to afford!

You see, Umar himself is jobless as of now. Thereby, the onus of supporting a family of ten is largely on his sons. But even as they toil day and night, the 18,000 PKR/monthly they earn is nowhere near enough to meet the needs of a ten membered family living in the grandpa’s old house. Umar himself is not too optimistic about his treatment either. He says:

“Well, I have to be realistic. I have been suffering from this disease for the last twelve years or so, and I would love the pain to vanish for one. But like I said, I have to be realistic. They say a CABG can put things back to normal like they used to be. But I know my family cannot come up with the funds required for this surgery. In fact, I would have given up all the hope of having a bypass ever, had it not been for Transparent Hands, the spark that has rekindled optimism in my troubled heart once more!

That is right, Transparent Hands is going to do everything to make sure that Umar gets his CABG. But we are going to need a lot of help from you, it will be impossible without your help. You know the patient, you know the story. All that you have to do NOW is donate for Umar Hayat’s CABG NOW!
