Waseem Akram's Story

Waseem Akram, a 37-year-old from Lahore, is battling cataracts in his right eye, severely impairing his vision and complicating his daily activities. After consulting with doctors, they recommended a crucial Right Phaco + Intraocular Lens (IOL) surgery to correct his severe short-sightedness.

Waseem, a dedicated government employee, earns approximately PKR 50,000 per month. Despite his limited income, his financial responsibilities weigh heavily on him. He resides in his own three-marla house, living in a joint family of nine members, including his parents, three children, and a divorced sister who seeks refuge under his roof. Waseem not only supports his immediate family but also takes care of his sister’s educational and financial needs.

Amidst financial constraints, Waseem finds himself unable to shoulder the expenses of his much-needed surgery. The burden of utility bills amounting to PKR 5,000, and school fees amounting to PKR 10,000 along with daily expenses and other financial responsibilities, further exacerbates his financial strain.

Waseem shares a heartfelt plea: “I’ve spent my life providing for my family and now find myself in need of your kindness. Your contribution can change my life, allowing me to see the world anew and continue caring for those I love.”

In his search for aid, Waseem turned to Transparent Hands, hoping they could help him navigate these financial barriers and regain his sight. We offer a beacon of hope, presenting an opportunity for Waseem to restore his vision and improve his quality of life.
