Donate for Yumna’s Cochlear Implant
Yumna Bibi's Story
Yumna is a sweet little girl with a beautiful name, but unfortunately, she has never heard it. She suffers from a congenital hearing disability. She was born without the sense of hearing and hasn’t been able to develop the ability to talk. Yumna’s parents have placed their hopes in your hands. We request you to donate for Yumna’s cochlear implant as much as you can.
Five-year-old Yumna Bibi, a resident of Peshawar, has had sensorineural hearing loss since birth. Her parents were initially unaware of her illness. Her parents took her to the hospital when she was a year old because she wasn’t responding to their voices and loud noises. Yumna’s doctor recommended a hearing aid, but her parents couldn’t afford it. Yumna’s doctor has now advised her to undergo Cochlear Implant surgery, which is much more expensive, as a long-term solution.
Yumna can have a modified sense of hearing with this medically inserted neuroprosthetic device. Unfortunately, Yumna’s parents cannot afford the cost of a Cochlear Implant surgery. Yumna’s father earns just PKR 15,000 a month. With a family of eight and all of them depending on his income for their basic needs, it is next to impossible for him to pay for his daughter’s surgery. Yumna’s father shared his distress with us:
“Yumna needs this cochlear implant as soon as possible so she can develop her sense of hearing and live a normal life, but I’m not in a financial position to pay for it. I want my daughter to have a bright future, which will only be possible with a cochlear implant. Please keep us waiting.”
Yumna’s parents have registered her case with Transparent Hands and we are determined to help her. However, it will not be possible without your generous support. Please donate for Yumna’s Cochlear Implant surgery and help her explore the world of sounds. Your contributions, no matter how small or big, will make a lasting impact.
Disclaimer: Transparent Hands makes sure that all the patients get surgery in time. If a patient requires urgent surgery and his/her condition is serious, Transparent Hands conducts the surgery immediately. In the meantime, his/her campaign stays active on the website until we raise the complete funding. The hospitals on our panel have complete trust in us and wait for the payments until the patient's funding is completed.

Yumna Bibi's Story
Five-year-old Yumna Bibi, a resident of Peshawar, had been unable to hear since birth. When her parents noticed that she was not responding to sounds, they took her to a doctor. The doctor advised them to get her a hearing aid, but they could not afford to pay for it due to financial constraints. Upon another consultation, she was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor told them that she needs to undergo cochlear implant surgery. Therefore, she was referred to Ali Medical Centre, Islamabad, and the cochlear implant was installed in her right ear by Dr. Jawwad Ahmed on 17.06.2022. She was discharged after one day of hospital stay. However, this was not the end of her procedure. The doctor asked them to bring Yumna for a follow-up visit after six weeks for the placement of the external component of the device.
