Shamim Akhtar's Story
“After my brother’s demise, my elder nephew was kind enough to look after me. He tried a lot to arrange money for my treatment but failed. My illness has now become a burden for the whole family. Please help me to pay for my surgery so that I can live a normal and pain-free life” – Pleaded Shamim Akhtar
Shamim Akhtar is a 54 years old woman suffering from Triple Vessel Disease from last 5 to 6 years. Her condition has deteriorated so much that she frequently experiences severe pain in her chest, arms and shoulders. She is unable to move the left upper side of the body due to stiffness and pain. She also experiences from palpitations and shortness of breath.
She had terribly suffered from low blood pressure in the past but after her heart disease was diagnosed, she has now become a patient of high blood pressure.
Her Angiography was done around a month ago after which the doctors had advised her urgent surgery to treat her disease. Without surgery, she may face further health complications including death. She went to a charity trust for help and they referred her to Transparent Hands to conduct her free surgery.
Shamim Akhtar is a divorced woman and does not have any children of her own. She was living a depressing life after her husband left her but it was her brother who gave her shelter and promised to take care of her but unfortunately, he died a few years back.
Currently, she is living with her elder nephew and dependent on him for every little need. Her nephew is a school teacher and earns only 15,000 PKR per month. Within this meager income, he is maintaining the household expenses of the whole family and also supporting his younger brother to pursue his studies.
In these circumstances, it is almost impossible for her nephew to arrange money for such an expensive surgery and other hospital bills. Right now, your valuable donation means a lot to this elderly woman.
Your kind donation can give her permanent relief and comfort. Donate Now!
