Abdul Majeed 's Story

42-year-old Abdul Majeed faced a road accident a year ago which resulted in a fracture of both his legs. He also sustained significant injury to his scrotal area, which has resulted in urethral constriction, a condition in which the urine passage narrows causing difficulties during urination. Post-accident, he was given first aid, and subsequently, a urine bag was attached to him to aid in urination. He has had a urine bag for almost a year now and is diagnosed to have a urethral stricture. He requires urethrocytoscopy for the internal examination of his urethra, followed by urethrotomy, which is surgery to open the stricture.

Abdul Majeed has 3 children. His two elder daughters attend school and his son is not of school-going age yet. Abdul works as a daily wage laborer and earns 7000 PKR/month to support his family. Since he cannot afford a house of his own, he and his family stay in his father’s house.

It is not within Abdul’s means to pay for this surgery himself so he has registered his case with Transparent Hands and is appealing for donations. He wants to have this surgery as soon as possible because, in his everyday life, his condition proves to be a hindrance, especially at work.

Abdul Majeed 's Story

Abdul Majeed, 40 years old, presented with a history of lower abdominal trauma six months ago and had urethral bleeding. His suprapubic cystoscopy was done. Now he had been diagnosed with a urethral stricture and was advised urethrocystoscopy for exploration before proceeding with his surgery. After his urethrocytoscopy, his surgery was performed by Dr. Faisal Zaeem in Akram Medical Complex on 14-07-20. His end to end urethroplasty was done. He remained admitted for 4 days and was discharged in a stable condition.
