Abdullah Muneer's Story
5 years old Abdullah Muneer suffers from anorectal malformation – a congenital condition resulting in a malformed stool passage. His colostomy was done at birth. To correct this and make stool passage at the usual site, the doctors at a local hospital performed Anoplasty – a process that surgically creates the child’s anus within the sphincter muscle.
To give Abdullah a chance to live pain-free life, now, the doctors have advised a Colostomy reversal surgery to reattach both ends of the colon which were divided at the time of first surgery. The surgery must be performed as soon as possible for Abdullah to be able to perform his bowel function normally.
The sole earner of the family – Abdullah’s father works as a hawker and he earns a total of PKR 15,000 per month, which is barely enough to keep his household running. With a family of five to feed, he is in no position to bear the expenses of his son’s surgery.
Seeing his distress, one of his friends told him about Transparent Hands and assured him that his son will be facilitated with free surgical treatment. As a last resort, he has come to us with hope and expectation.

Abdullah Muneer's Story
Abdullah Muneer, 5 years old, was diagnosed with anorectal malformation at the time of his birth. His colostomy was done and later on, his back passage was created through PSARP surgery. After that, the surgeon recommended a colostomy reversal surgery for him. For this purpose, Abdullah was admitted in Lahore Care Hospital and the procedure was performed by Dr. Sajid Iqbal Nayyer on 09.12.2020. His colostomy reversal was done successfully and the bowel continuity was restored. He stayed in the hospital for four days and was discharged in a stable condition. His post-operative recovery was satisfactory.
