Aliya Irshaad is a 39 years old homemaker suffering from goiter disease for 10 years. She experiences painful symptoms including pain, coughing, difficulty in breathing and swallowing. Her prolonged illness has not just affected her physically but also made her extremely stressed.

When Aliya was diagnosed with this disease, she was provided with medicines for relief from pain. As time passed, her goiter grew bigger causing compression symptoms on the neck. She cannot even move her neck now due to swollen goiter. The doctor has recommended her to get the surgery done as soon as possible as it cannot be treated with medicines anymore.

Aliya’s financial condition doesn’t allow her to undergo surgical treatment from any hospital. Her husband works as an office assistant and earns only 15,000 PKR a month. Aliya Irshaad's Story

Aliya Irshaad, 39 years old, had long standing goiter. She started experiencing difficulty breathing due to neck swelling and was advised thyroidectomy for multinodular goiter. She was operated on at Lahore Care Hospital, on 13-11-19, by Dr Ahmed Fawad. Her subtotal thyroidectomy was done. She remained well during her post-operative period and was discharged symptom free after four days of hospital stay.
