Amreen Bibi's Story
Amreen Bibi, 45 years old, has experienced health issues for almost 13 months now. She has been diagnosed with a paraumbilical hernia because of which, for the past year, she has been experiencing pain and swelling in the umbilical area as well as vomiting. For permanent relief, the doctors have recommended surgery- a mesh hernioplasty.
“I did try to have the surgery but the local hospitals are all overflowing with patients right now. I was immediately dismissed from everywhere leaving me with no choice but to stay untreated.” – Amreen Bibi
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Amreen has been turned away from every medical facility she has visited for treatment. Private hospitals are willing to perform her surgery but at a huge cost that Amreen and her family cannot meet. Her husband is a tailor with an income of merely 15,000 PKR/month, nearly 6000 PKR of which get used up in rent. This couple has 4 children to care for and barely any money left after rent to do so.

Amreen Bibi's Story
Amreen Bibi, 45 years old, was suffering from pain in the paraumbilical region. She was diagnosed with a paraumbilical hernia (PUH). Her anatomical PUH was done in Lahore Care Hospital, by Dr. Ahmad Fawad, on 22-07-20. She was discharged in a good condition after 2 days of hospital stay.
