Fauzia Iftikhar's Story
Fauzia, 38 years old, is suffering from a painful condition known as cholelithiasis (stones in the gallbladder). For permanent relief from pain, she requires a cholecystectomy surgery in which her gallbladder will be removed. She has visited several local hospitals to get her surgery conducted at a cheaper price or for free, but all of them turned her away. She has since then been enduring discomfort because she cannot afford to have the surgery at a private hospital and her symptoms have been deteriorating and getting more painful.
“I got married about 12 years ago and have 2 children. My husband runs a rickshaw on rent and gets an average of 6000 PKR per month. He is also a drug user and spends most of this income on drugs. I get paid 2000 PKR per month for sewing clothes in my community and this, together with the small amount my husband gives me, is all I have to run my household. Paying for treatment seems impossible in such circumstances.” – Fauzia Iftikhar
Fauzia got to know about TH after her symptoms worsened and she could not find resources for free surgery elsewhere. She applied for free medical care and her case was approved. We now endeavor to ease her pain and bring some comfort into her life and we hope your contributions will help us do so!

Fauzia Iftikhar's Story
Fauzia Iftikhar, 38 years old, was suffering from upper abdominal pain and was diagnosed with cholelithiasis (gallstones). She was advised a laparoscopic cholecystectomy by her surgeon. She was admitted in Abid hospital and the surgery was performed by Dr. Abdul Saeed Sajjid on 07.11.2020. Fauzia’s gallbladder containing stones was removed. She stayed in the hospital for two days and was discharged in a stable condition. Her post-operative recovery was swift.
