Adeela Akram 's Story

Adeela, a vibrant young woman, holds immense potential and a promising future. However, her journey has been hampered by a severe and life-threatening heart condition. The sole solution to rectify her condition lies in undergoing open-heart surgery. She yearns for a future filled with health. We can transform her dream into a tangible reality with your invaluable support and generous contribution. Your donation holds the power to save her life and restore hope to a desperate family in need. Please consider donating to help fund Adeela’s TOF surgery, as every contribution counts.

Adeela Akmal, a 25-year-old resident of Bahawalpur, has been grappling with dyspnea, cyanosis, and recurring episodes of chest pain. Since her early years, her parents have witnessed her health deteriorate, tirelessly striving to manage her condition. Concerned about her well-being, they sought medical assistance at the local hospital, where diagnostic tests revealed a diagnosis of Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) – a complex heart condition altering blood flow within the heart. To rectify her condition, the cardiologist advised open-heart surgery for Total Correction. However, the surgery was deemed unsuitable due to her health status at that time, and she was prescribed medication instead. Recently, she revisited the hospital, where the cardiac surgeon advised her to undergo total correction.

She is living with her parents and five siblings in a small house. Her father is a laborer and earns just PKR 30,000 per month. They have no other source of income. Her father cannot afford to pay for cardiac surgery due to the financial crisis. Her father said in a depressed tone:

“Please help save my daughter’s life by donating towards her life-saving surgery. Your support can allow her to live a healthy and fulfilling life.”

In their desperation, Adeela’s parents turned to Transparent Hands, seeking aid for their daughter’s worsening condition. We are determined in providing unwavering support for her cardiac surgery, but we rely on your generous donations to save her heart.  We earnestly appeal to donate to help Adeela’s TOF surgery and transform her future.

Adeela Akmal, a 25-year-old resident of Bahawalpur, had been grappling with dyspnea, cyanosis, and recurring episodes of chest pain. Since her early years, Adeela's parents have witnessed her health deteriorate, tirelessly striving to manage her condition. Concerned about her well-being, they sought medical assistance at the local hospital, where diagnostic tests revealed a Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) diagnosis. To rectify her condition, the cardiologist advised open-heart surgery for Total Correction. However, the surgery was deemed unsuitable due to her health status, and she was prescribed medication instead.

Recently, Adeela revisited the hospital, where the cardiac surgeon advised her to undergo total correction with pulmonary valve reconstruction and augmentation of pulmonary atresia (PA) with a transannular patch. Unfortunately, her family could not afford the cost of the surgery. They desperately needed financial assistance and turned to Transparent Hands at this time. The funds for the surgery were arranged successfully.

She was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore, where her operation was performed by Dr. Jamal on 10-06-2023. The surgery was a resounding success, and she was discharged from the hospital after a thirteen-day stay, much to the relief and joy of her family. She was also asked for a follow-up visit for the removal of stitching after one week. The Pakistan Children's Heart Foundation and some other generous donors helped make this surgery possible.

The surgery saved her life and opened a world of possibilities for her. With her health restored, she can enjoy her life without any restrictions. None of this would have been possible without the kindness and generosity of donors like you. Your contributions have had a profound impact, not only on her life but on her entire family. The emotional weight lifted from her parents' shoulders, knowing their daughter has been given a chance at a healthy and prosperous future, is immeasurable. We extend our deepest gratitude to each and every donor who made this life-saving surgery possible. Donate Online to help women like Adeela.
