Humera Majeed is a 22 years old patient who is currently pursuing her master’s degree. Humera has been suffering from several conditions since birth and is now a chronic patient of ureteral stones. She has already undergone 3 surgeries in her life and now this disease has shattered her confidence.

Humera has 3 younger siblings and all are school going. This family lives in a rented house and struggles to make both ends meet. Humera’s family depends on her for livelihood because her father cannot work due to illness. She works as a laborer in a factory and the entire family relies on her income of 20,000 PKR per month. Humera is unable to pay for her treatment herself.

Humera was a baby when a colostomy procedure was done to make a temporary passage for stool. Afterward, she went through an Anterior Sagittal Anorectalplasty (ASARP) and then had a final colostomy procedure five years ago. Unfortunately, after these procedures, she developed obstructive ureteral stones.

Because of her ureteral stones, Humera suffers from frequent pain and recurring fever. Her health is deteriorating day by day making her unable to work. She visited many local hospitals where doctors revealed that she needed a cystoscopy for examination and Ureteroscopy for treatment, but the cost of the surgery was too much. Humera Majeed's Story

Humera Majeed 22 years old girl was suffering from pain in her right flank. She was diagnosed to have right renal and ureteric stones. She was advised Ureterorenoscopy (URS) for relief. Her procedure was done in Akram Medical Complex by Dr. Faisal Zaeem on 06-September-19. Her right URS and DJ stenting was done to clear the stones. She was discharged in satisfactory condition after 3 days of hospital stay.
