Donate to Irum Shahzadi for Her Total Abdominal Hysterectomy
Irum Shahzadi's Story
40-year-old Irum Shahzadi started experiencing frequent episodes of lower abdominal pain. When she could not understand the reason for it, she decided to visit a doctor in a private clinic. Her tests were conducted and she was found to have fibroids in her uterus. Fibroids are basically abnormal growths that develop either in or on the uterus. The doctors in that clinic prescribed medicines for pain relief which she took regularly. But these medicines did not help her condition much.
Gradually, her condition worsened and she started experiencing heavy bleeding and weakness. Consequently, she had to visit a hospital again. There, the doctor again did some tests. After reviewing the reports, he advised a total abdominal hysterectomy (HAT) for her. In this surgery, the patient’s uterus and cervix are removed.
Irum stitches clothes for a living and her husband works in a shop. Their monthly income is only PKR 18,000. They have four school going children, all dependent on this income. Because of a tight monthly budget, Irum could not afford the surgery and was referred to our organization by the hospital. Her case is now registered with us.
“I have been enduring pain and weakness for two years now. Because of this condition, I cannot even perform the daily household chores like I used to. I hope the surgery will provide me a permanent relief”.- Irum Shahzadi
Irum hopes to regain her strength and agility after the surgery. Your small act of kindness may leave an invaluable impact on her life. Make a generous donation now!
