Nasim Mai's Story
Nasim Mai, age 36, has been suffering from severe pain and swelling in her lower abdomen for several years now. She went to her local hospital where she was diagnosed with an incisional hernia, for which the doctor recommended her to undergo surgery. Since her diagnosis of hernia, she has had three successive surgeries but the problem keeps recurring. In order to relieve her discomfort and pain, she requires another surgery- a mesh repair of the incisional hernia.
Nasim Mai’s local hospital has refused to offer her free surgical services again due to a long waiting list. Her husband cannot afford to pay for the surgical expenses at a private hospital because he can barely work on account of his disability. At best, he manages to earn 100 PKR a day working as a bread maker, with which he supports his family. Nasim Mai has been suffering from severe pain for the last few months and has now requested the help of Transparent Hands.
“I have been through so much pain in recent years. Every time I get operated on, I think that things have improved but the problem returns again. I hope that somebody comes to my aid and I can get treated by an expert specialist.” – Nasim Mai
With your help, Nasim Mai’s surgery can be conducted at a good facility and she can finally find relief from pain.
