Samina Bibi's Story
Samina Bibi, 45, has been experiencing pain in her right hypochondriac area along with abdominal stretch and vomiting for the past year. She has been diagnosed with stones in the gallbladder (cholelithiasis) and the doctors have advised surgery to remove the gallbladder for relief from the pain. Her condition has especially aggravated in the past two months but despite being in intense pain, she does not have the option of having surgery due to financial limitations.
Samina Bibi is a homemaker and before getting sick, she would spend most of her day looking after her household and her family. Her husband runs a small fruit shop which is the sole source of income for this family. With just under 500 PKR/day (or 12,000 PKR/month on average), Samina and her husband try to meet their own needs as well as those of their three school-going children.
Earlier this month, Transparent Hands was contacted to help get Samina a free cholecystectomy surgery. Her appointment has been successfully scheduled and in a few weeks’ time, we hope to see her healthy. If you would like to contribute towards getting Samina back to good health, please don’t hesitate to donate to her campaign today!
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
