Zeeshan Suliman's Story

Zeeshan Suliman, 2 years old, is suffering from a hydrocele with a hernia- swelling in the scrotum due to fluid collection, which has resulted from a right inguinal hernia. He started developing this swelling around a year and a half ago. His parents were asked by doctors to have his herniotomy done but due to financial instability, they did not have the resources for the surgery back then and still don’t. Zeeshan’s discomfort has persisted for over a year now and his parents have finally approached Transparent Hands for help with his surgery.

Zeeshan’s father is a daily wager who is paid 500 PKR a day. On average, he earns around 10,000 PKR a month. Zeeshan’s mother is a housewife who looks after the household. They have three small children to support on a very modest income. Most of the time, it proves insufficient to meet their basic needs. The family does not own a house or have any other resources either and reside in a small cottage temporarily granted to them by their village’s landlord.

Zeeshan Suliman's Story

Zeeshan, 2 ½ years old, had swelling in his right groin since birth. It gradually increased in size and started causing pain. He was advised surgery for this. He was operated in Abid Hospital, Mian Channu, by Dr Faisal Usman, on 29-04-20. It was a right indirect inguinal hernia and his herniotomy was done. He was discharged after two days of stay in the hospital.
