Zahra Bibi's Story

For the past few years, life hasn’t been kind to forty years old Zahra Bibi from Faisalabad. With great complications she gave birth to a miraculously healthy son. Soon after the delivery she experienced heavy menstrual bleeding. A check-up revealed that she had acquired Hepatitis C and was also diabetic. Sadly Zahra Bibi was also found to have been suffering from Hernia. Luckily, she was connected to Transparent Hands and was successfully operated upon. Sadly, her disease free life proved to be short lived and after suffering for five years she contacted Transparent Hands again. She has presently been diagnosed with Fibroid uterus. Fibroids also called Leiomyomas or Myomas are noncancerous growths of the uterus often appearing during childbearing years. Fibroids vary in sizes ranging from non-visible growths to bulky masses capable of distorting and enlarging the uterus. Though associated with an increased risk of uterine cancer, uterine fibroids almost never develop into cancer. Though symptoms of Fibroids can be influenced by the location, size and the number, most common signs and symptoms of uterine fibroids include: Heavy menstrual bleeding, menstrual periods lasting more than a week, pelvic pressure or pain, backache or leg pains, frequent urination, constipation and difficulty emptying the bladder. Suggested treatments include intake of various medications and/or total abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH). Zahra Bibi is advised to undergo TAH, which is the surgical removal of the uterus and cervix through an abdominal incision. Despite her complicated life Zahra Bibi sounds optimistic as she states:

My husband is a laborer who earns PKR. 15,000 and has a family of seven to provide for. God has given me five beautiful children, I have hope that He will put an end to my suffering soon too. The only thing that has driven me through the darkest phase of my life is hope. Hope in a miracle, hope in all the people that I never got a chance to see or meet, yet they donated for my treatment. I am grateful to Transparent Hands for assisting me again. I am also grateful in advance to all those who will be donating for my procedure presently.”

Luckily, now that Zahra Bibi has reconnected with Transparent Hands, you can make this procedure possible. Generously, donate for Zahra Bibi’s total abdominal Hysterectomy in order for her to lead a normal life.
