Enable Wafa to Hear Her Loved Ones’ Voices

Wafa Zainab's Story
Meet Wafa Zainab, a 7-year-old girl from Sialkot, who can’t hear and respond to voices. Since birth, she has been facing these challenges, and she is unable to enjoy the precious moments of her childhood. While playing with her friends, she often sits quietly, wondering why she can’t hear and speak like they do. Wafa has never even heard her parents’ and siblings’ voices. Worried about her condition, her parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After a detailed medical evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Wafa with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL). To enable her to hear the sounds around her, the doctor has advised cochlear implant surgery. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s means.
If Wafa does not receive the cochlear implant soon, her condition may become even more difficult to treat. She may not be able to develop the ability to hear and speak. Early surgical treatment is important for giving her the best chance to have a fulfilling and independent future.
Wafa lives in a modest home with her parents and one sibling. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, is a police employee and brings in PKR 60,000 per month. With this modest income, they cover their utility bills amounting to PKR 5000, food, and other living expenses. These necessities leave nothing behind to save for the costly procedure. Wafa desperately needs surgery, but her family can’t afford it. During this difficult time, they have turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Wafa’s family said:
“We can’t see Wafa in this condition. She can’t hear like other kids of her age. There’s nothing more heartbreaking than watching her struggle with a problem we’re helpless to fix. You can transform her life.”
Wafa’s parents have placed all their hopes in your hands. Your generosity will enable her to undergo the much-needed surgery and finally hear the sounds around her.
Come forward and donate to help Wafa discover the world of sounds!
