Abdullah Faheem's Story

Abdullah Faheem, a charming and innocent two-year-old boy from Lower Kurram, is trapped in a world of silence that casts a shadow over his early childhood. Recently diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss, he has been recommended the life-changing solution of cochlear implant surgery. This crucial procedure holds the potential to completely transform Abdullah’s life, granting him the precious gift of hearing and the ability to connect with his surroundings.

Living in his own house in a joint setup with 20 family members, Abdullah’s father runs a small shop and earns just PKR 18,000. Fortunately, his uncle also contributes to the household budget as a driver, earning PKR 32,000. Despite their combined efforts, the responsibility of feeding such a large family, daily grocery expenses, utility bills amounting to PKR 3,000, and Abdullah’s school fees of PKR 2,000, leaves them in a financially precarious situation.  With their limited financial resources and a profound desire to change Abdullah’s life, his family faces the daunting challenge of affording the surgical expenses. The weight of their responsibilities and the financial strain only serve to heighten their determination to give Abdullah the chance to experience the world with sound.
