Awais Noor's Story

Awais Noor, a brave three-year-old boy from Orakzai, has been facing a challenging battle with a debilitating condition since the tender age of one. Despite his parents’ unwavering efforts and a visit to the local hospital for diagnosis, the overwhelming financial burden has prevented him from receiving the crucial treatment he desperately needs. However, a glimmer of hope has emerged in the form of a life-changing surgery that could transform his future.

As soon as Awais’s parents discovered his condition, they wasted no time in seeking medical help. They rushed him to the nearest hospital, where a series of tests confirmed their worst fears-congenital deafness. The doctors explained that a cochlear implant surgery would be the most effective solution for Awais’s hearing loss.

However, their hearts sank when they learned about the high cost involved. Awais lives in a small house with his parents and three siblings in Orakzai.  His father is a hardworking daily wage laborer, already struggles to make ends meet with a meager monthly income of PKR 20,000. With grocery bills, utility expenses, school fees for Awais’s siblings, and daily expenses, there is no room in their budget to pay for the life-saving surgery.

Awais’s father said in despair:

“My heart aches as I see my beloved son, struggle with his condition. His innocent eyes are filled with longing and confusion, unable to embrace the world of sound around him. I am driven by an unwavering determination as a father to give him the chance he deserves—a life where he can hear the beauty that surrounds us.”
