Give for Naseem Akhtar’s Open Cholecystectomy
Naseem Akhtar's Story
Naseem Akhtar, a brave 36-year-old woman from Lahore, has been experiencing acute right upper abdominal pain for four months. Naseem received symptomatic treatment, including medications, prescribed by a local doctor. Unfortunately, her condition didn’t subside and became worse day by day. She is also suffering from nausea and indigestion which gives her extreme discomfort. Later, Naseem consulted a surgeon, who diagnosed her with symptomatic gallstones. The doctor has advised her to undergo an open cholecystectomy, a surgical procedure to remove the gallbladder.
Naseem’s life is filled with extreme health challenges as she has a pre-existing history of diabetes, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease. Now, gallstones have impacted her health badly and stolen her ability to perform daily chores. She can’t take care of her children due to the persistent pain and discomfort caused by the gallbladder stones. She is struggling each day of her life.
Naseem is a housewife and has three children. Living in a small one-room rented brick house, they hardly make ends meet. Her husband, the sole provider for the family, works as a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 30,000 per month. With this insufficient monthly income, they struggle to cover utility bills, groceries, house rent, and other daily living expenses. Naseem deserves to live a happy and healthy life which would only be possible through the necessary cholecystectomy surgery.
However, the significant cost of the surgery is beyond their financial means.
Naseeb expressed her plight as follows:
“I’m facing persistent pain and discomfort and the condition has taken away my ability to perform routine tasks. I get tired easily and can’t take care of my children. I request you to support me in undergoing this surgery, as it’s the only way for me to regain health.”
