In the rural village of Mehrub Pur, Sindh, a young girl named Alizah, at the tender age of six, faces a silent world. Born with hearing loss, Alizah has never known the joyous sounds that fill the lives of other children. Today, we have the opportunity to change her life forever through a transformative cochlear implant surgery. Alizah’s family, residing in a modest mud-brick home, consulted a doctor who recommended the cochlear implant procedure as her best hope for restoring the precious gift of hearing. This surgery involves the implantation of a device that bypasses the damaged parts of her ears, directly stimulating the auditory nerve and enabling sound perception.

With this life-changing operation, Alizah can finally experience the laughter of her siblings, the comforting words of her mother, and the gentle voice of her father. Alizah’s father, a hardworking daily wager, earns a meager 20,000 rupees per month, with an additional loan of 10,000 rupees to manage. As the sole breadwinner for his family of five, the cost of Alizah’s surgery remains a daunting financial obstacle. In a heartbreaking moment, he expressed his anguish, saying: “I yearn to give my daughter Alizah the ability to hear the world around her. I dream of seeing her connect with her loved ones and engage fully with her surroundings, but the cost of the surgery is far beyond my means.” Yet, we firmly believe that every child deserves the chance to embrace the wonders of sound and fully participate in the world. Alizah Bibi's Story

In the small town of Sindh, 6-year-old girl Alizah had been living in a world of silence due to congenital sensorineural hearing loss. Her parents noticed her hearing impairment when she turned one. This prompted them to seek a medical consultation for their innocent daughter.

After extensive consultations and examinations, her doctors recommended cochlear implant surgery for Alizah. However, her father, burdened by financial instability, felt an immense sense of helplessness.

Transparent Hands, moved by their heartfelt plea, registered Alizah's case, offering a lifeline to the family. With the support of compassionate donors, she was admitted to GIMS Hospital, where Dr. Maqbool Ahmad successfully installed the internal component of the cochlear implant on June 6, 2024. After one day, Alizah was discharged from the hospital, marking the beginning of her new journey.

After six weeks, the external implant was installed successfully. Alizah is eagerly learning words and taking small but significant steps toward communication through her speech therapy sessions.
