Asma Arif 's Story

Asma Arif is a 48-year-old devoted mother residing in Lahore. For the past six years, Asma has endured excruciating abdominal pain, persistent discomfort, and recurring episodes of nausea and vomiting. Despite seeking symptomatic treatments, her condition has only worsened over time. Recognizing the urgency of her situation, Asma decided to consult a general surgeon. After a series of tests and an ultrasound, it was revealed that Asma had gallstones. The recommended course of action is a Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a surgical procedure to remove her gallbladder. However, the financial burden associated with the surgery is preventing Asma from accessing the treatment she desperately needs.

Asma is a strong-willed housewife, passionately dedicated to her family and daily responsibilities. She lovingly cares for her two children, ensuring they receive the attention and support they need to thrive. Unfortunately, her husband’s monthly income of only PKR 35,000 isn’t sufficient to cover the expenses of the surgical procedure and related medical costs. In her current predicament, she finds herself unable to pursue the treatment that would alleviate her suffering and enable her to continue caring for her family.
