Mehwish Bibi's Story

Mehwish, a 25-year-old resident of Karachi, has been suffering from bleeding while passing stool for the past nine years. She had sought medical help from local doctors, but the relief she experienced was only temporary. Determined to find a lasting solution, she decided to visit the Murshid Hospital charity medical camp, where a doctor examined her and recommended hemorrhoidectomy surgery.

Mehwish’s previous medical history is not specific, but her condition has been a constant source of discomfort and concern. As a housewife, she relies on her husband, a labourer earning a monthly income of 28,000 rupees. With the family living in a rented house and three children to support, the financial burden of the surgery is overwhelming for them. Mehwish simply cannot afford the cost of the surgery that has been advised by her doctor.

She said in despair:

“I am reaching out to all compassionate donors for support in raising funds for my surgery. The surgery recommended by the doctor offers the potential for a permanent solution to my condition. It would bring immense relief to me and enable me to live a healthier and happier life, free from the pain and discomfort I have endured for a year.”

In her pursuit of finding financial support, Mehwish reached out to Transparent Hands. We aim to bridge the gap between deserving patients and the necessary medical interventions they require. Mehwish’s case caught their attention, as her condition significantly affects her quality of life, and the recommended EUA (Examination Under Anaesthesia) and hemorrhoidectomy surgery offer a potential solution.

Through this campaign, Transparent Hands aims to raise funds to cover the expenses associated with Mehwish’s surgery. We believe that no individual should suffer due to financial constraints when it comes to their health. By contributing to this campaign, donors can help Mehwish undergo the necessary surgical procedure and alleviate her long-standing condition, allowing her to live a healthier and more comfortable life.

Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.

Despite seeking medical help from local doctors, the relief she experienced was only temporary. Determined to find a lasting solution, she decided to attend the Murshid Hospital charity medical camp, where her condition was examined by a doctor. The doctor recommended hemorrhoidectomy surgery as the necessary treatment.

However, as a family living in a rented house,  and with three children to support, the financial burden of the surgery seemed insurmountable for Mehwish. She simply could not afford the cost of the procedure.

In response to Mehwish's urgent need, Transparent Hands initiated a campaign to raise funds and cover the expenses associated with her surgery. Recognizing the significance of her situation, Transparent Hands launched a collective effort to secure the necessary financial support. The campaign aimed to alleviate Mehwish's financial burden and provide her with the opportunity to receive the life-changing surgery she desperately needed.

Their collective contributions, both large and small, created a significant impact on her life. By alleviating the financial burden associated with the surgery, these compassionate individuals enabled Mehwish to receive the necessary treatment and experience relief from her prolonged suffering.
