Mati ul Haq's Story

Mati Ul Haq, a 68-year-old resident of Lahore, is facing the debilitating effects of cataract in his left eye, severely affecting his vision. Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, the doctor has recommended (L) Phaco + IOL surgery to alleviate his condition and restore his eyesight.

Living in a rented five Marla house in Lahore, Mati Ul Haq and his sons work for a daily wage laborers, earning a combined monthly income of approximately PKR 70,000. However, their financial circumstances are strained due to the burden of daily expenses and the monthly rent of PKR 15,000. In addition, they reside in a joint family of nine members, solely relying on this income without any other sources of financial support.

With limited means and the pressing need for medical intervention, Mati Ul Haq and his family find themselves unable to afford the necessary surgical expenses. The cost of the surgery remains beyond their reach, along with other financial obligations such as school fees for their children amounting to PKR 8,000.

Mati Ul Haq’s son said it in a depressed tone:

“The burden of cataract has caused immense difficulty, robbing our beloved father of his clear vision. We yearn to see him regain his sight and lead a life free from the limitations imposed by his condition. Unfortunately, our financial constraints make it impossible for us to cover the cost of the surgery. We humbly implore you to help us restore our father’s vision and improve his quality of life.”

In their time of need, Mati Ul Haq and his family have found a ray of hope as Transparent Hands takes up their case. Together, let us join hands and generously contribute towards Mati Ul Haq’s cataract surgery, enabling him to regain his vision and embrace a future filled with renewed possibilities.
