Muhammad Zain's Story

Muhammad Zain, a 10-year-old boy from Khanewal, has been struggling with vision impairment. It has cast a shadow over his childhood. Zain’s condition started at birth, but it became more prominent two years ago when his teacher noticed he was struggling to read and follow lessons in class. His parents took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After conducting a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed him with a cataract in his right eye. A cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye which leads to decreased vision. The doctor recommended (R) Phaco + IOL surgery to restore Zain’s vision. Unfortunately, Zain’s family is unable to afford the surgery.

Zain is an energetic and curious boy who loves learning and playing with his siblings. However,  the cataract in his right eye has blurred his vision, making it increasingly difficult for him to see clearly. Zain often feels frustrated and isolated as he struggles to keep up with his peers and enjoy the activities he once loved.  Without timely treatment, his condition may worsen, leading to long-term visual impairment and even complete loss of vision.

Zain lives in a one-room brick house with his parents and three younger siblings. His father works as a laborer and makes just PKR 25000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they hardly cover utility bills of PKR 2000 and educational expenses of PKR 5000. Zain’s father works hard to provide for even basic needs, leaving no room for the cost of his son’s surgery.  During this time of need, Zain’s family reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Zain’s parents shared their heartfelt appeal as follows:

“Watching our son struggle breaks our hearts. We dream of seeing him thrive, both in school and in life. With your support, we can make this dream a reality.”

Your generous support can change Zain’s life. By contributing to his surgery, you can help him regain his sight, confidence, and independence. Together, we can improve his future and restore his joy.

Muhammad Zain's Story

Muhammad Zain, a 10-year-old boy from Khanewal, had been facing vision impairment since birth. What began as a mild issue became more noticeable two years ago, and his concentration began to drop. His parents, deeply concerned, took him to a nearby hospital for a consultation. After a detailed eye examination, the doctor diagnosed him with a cataract in his right eye. The doctor recommended Right Eye Lens matter aspiration with Intraocular Lens (LMA + IOL) to restore Zain’s vision. Without timely surgical intervention, his eyesight would have worsened, severely limiting his ability to interact with the world around him. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond what his family could manage.

Zain lives in a modest one-room brick house in Khanewal with his parents and three younger siblings. His father worked as a laborer and earned only PKR 25,000 per month. This limited income was barely enough to cover the family’s basic expenses, including food, utility bills, and school fees. Under such financial constraints, arranging money for Zain’s eye surgery seemed impossible. His parents were heartbroken at the thought of their son losing his vision due to poverty. During this time of need, Zain’s family learned about Transparent Hands and reached out for support. Understanding the nature of his condition, we registered his case promptly.

On April 8, 2025, Zain was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Trust Hospital, Multan. His surgery was successfully performed on April 9, 2025, by Dr. Sadaqat. The procedure went smoothly, and Zain was discharged in stable condition from the hospital.

Zain’s parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude as follows:

“Zain can now read, play, and go to school with confidence. We are truly thankful to you for making this surgery possible. You’ve changed our child’s life forever.”

Today, Zain can see clearly again. His quality of life has improved now, and he can now grow and thrive in life without any obstacles.

Zain’s family is immensely grateful to you for significantly changing his life.
