Irum Ishtiaq, a ten years old resident of Pakpattan, went through a tragic event a year ago where she had a perineal injury. The doctor advised her to undergo a series of surgeries. Her first surgery was performed at a public hospital. In this surgery her wounds were managed and a stoma was placed. By the grace of Almighty she healed. Now after healing she required to undergo the next procedure that is of colostomy reversal. Her colostomy reversal was continuously delayed by the hospital due to COVID.

Irum’s father is a security guard and earns PKR. 13000 a month. He could not afford to go to a private hospital. Irum Ishtiaq’s father expressed his feelings in the following manner:

Irum Ishtiaque, a ten-year-old resident of Pakpattan, suffered a perianal injury eight months ago. She got her treatment done in a public hospital and a colostomy was performed as a part of treatment. After this treatment, she contacted us for her final surgery, Colostomy Reversal. For this purpose, she was sent to Lahore Care Hospital to get her operation done by Dr. Bilal Mirza. The procedure was done on 23-11-2021. Irum was discharged after five days of hospital stay. She is now recovering and looks forward to a bright future.
