Irza Shahid's Story

Irza Shahid, a 1.5-year-old girl from Okara, is unable to hear the sounds around her. Her silent world prevents her from experiencing the sounds of laughter, and the loving voices of her parents. She can’t enjoy the precious moments of her childhood like other kids of her age. Upon noticing her unresponsiveness to sounds, her parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL). To open the door to the world of sounds for her, the doctor advised cochlear implant surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is beyond their financial reach.

The sooner she receives the cochlear implant, the better her chances of speech and language development, which are essential at her age. If she doesn’t undergo the surgery on time, she might not be able to develop the ability to hear and speak.

Irza lives in a modest house with her parents. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, is a police employee who makes PKR 55000 per month. This modest income just covers their utility bills and household expenses. Irza is her parents’ only child, and they want her to have access to opportunities like children. Unfortunately, their financial constraints don’t allow them to pay for her life-changing cochlear implant surgery. During this time of need, Irza’s parents contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.

Irza’s parents said in despair:

“Every day, we see our daughter missing out on life’s joys. We want her to hear our voices, to laugh with her siblings, and to experience the world like other children. But we simply can’t afford the surgery. Please help us!”

Irza’s future hangs in the balance, and she is relying on your generosity to help her gain the ability to hear. Together, let’s make sure Irza gets the cochlear implant surgery she requires. Your contributions can significantly change her life, allowing her to hear and be heard.

Come forward and support Irza’s cochlear implant surgery.
