Sadia Muaaz, a 38-year-old woman from Lahore, has been suffering from abdominal pain and discomfort for the past three months. Recently, her condition worsened with sharp pain in the upper right side of her abdomen, accompanied by nausea and vomiting. After visiting a hospital and undergoing diagnostic tests, she was diagnosed with Symptomatic Gallstones — a condition where the stones form in the Gall bladder. To treat this condition, her doctor has advised open cholecystectomy, a surgical procedure to remove the gallbladder. However, her family can’t afford her surgery.

If Sadia doesn’t undergo surgery soon, her condition may worsen. It may lead to serious complications like gallbladder infection or blockage of bile ducts, which can become life-threatening.

Sadia is a mother of three children. Despite her illness, she tries to remain strong for her family. Her husband is currently unemployed, and they live in her brother-in-law’s house. The entire financial burden falls on her brother-in-law, who helps them manage their basic needs. The whole family lives in a rented house. They struggle each month to cover their house rent, utility bills amounting to PKR 10,000, food, and other living expenses. With the rising cost of living, they hardly make ends meet. Affording to pay for Sadia’s surgery is impossible for them.

Sadia said in despair:

“This pain has taken over my life. I can’t eat or sleep peacefully. My children are constantly worried about me. I want to be healthy again. However, we don’t have the money for this surgery. I request you to help me in receiving this much-needed treatment.”
