Saba Raheel's Story

Saba Raheel, a 38-year-old woman from Lahore, has been suffering from severe pain in her upper right abdomen for the past year. Initially, the pain was mild and occasional, but it has worsened significantly with time. Her condition is accompanied by persistent nausea, vomiting, and fever. Even simple tasks like sitting have become challenging for her. Deeply worried about her condition, Saba went to a local hospital. After a thorough examination and diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with symptomatic gallstones — a condition where hardened deposits in the gallbladder cause severe pain. To relieve her pain and prevent further health risks, the doctor has advised Saba to undergo an open cholecystectomy. However, her family can’t afford the surgery.

If left untreated, Saba’s condition will deteriorate. It may lead to severe complications such as gallbladder infection (cholecystitis), bile duct blockage, or even life-threatening sepsis.

Despite her best efforts, Saba cannot manage to save enough for the surgery that is crucial for her recovery and well-being.
