5 years old, Muhammad Abdullah, a resident of Lahore, went through a tragedy two years ago when his house caught fire due to unknown reasons. Abdullah burnt his leg severely. Abdullah was rushed to a public hospital where due to medical negligence and delay in proper treatment his leg muscle contracted. The doctor discharged him with symptomatic treatment. Upon re-consultation and work up, he was diagnosed with right foot Contracture and Hypertrophic scarring. As a result Abdullah was advised Right Foot Contracture Release and Full Thickness Skin Grafting (FTSG) by the doctor. Full-thickness skin grafts are made up of epidermis and the whole thickness of the dermis. If FTSG is to be used, a piece of your skin is cut into the precise size and shape to fit the wound.
Abdullah’s father works as a labourer and earns PKR. 20,000 a month. They live in a rented house and with a family of four to provide for, it is impossible for Abdullah’s father to be able to arrange the hefty amount for his procedure. Abdullah’s father shared his distress with us in the following manner:
“I never imagined that our lives would be turned upside down like this. My son has his whole life ahead of him and this incident has traumatised him. I cannot do anything for him. Transparent Hands is my last hope. Please help.”

Muhammad Abdullah 's Story
Five-year-old Muhammad Abdullah, a resident of Lahore, had a tragic accident two years ago when his house caught fire due to unknown reasons. He sustained burns on his leg. He was rushed to the hospital where he was given symptomatic treatment, but due to medical negligence, a contracture developed on his right foot. He came to us for help. Hence, he was sent to Lahore Care Hospital to get his contracture release surgery and FTSG of right foot (stage 1) done by Dr. Imran on 10-12-2021. He was discharged after four days of hospital stay in a stable condition. Muhammad Abdullah is now recovering.
