Naseem Nazeer awaits Thyroidectomy
Naseem Nazeer's Story
Naseem Nazeer awaits Thyroidectomy. Before we explain the gory details of Naseem Nazeer’s ailments, we want you to know that no words can explain the pain that Naseem Nazeer is facing right now. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Naseem’s subtotal thyroidectomy and help us ease her pain.
42 years old Naseem Nazeer lives in Lahore. For the last three years, Naseem has been suffering from excessive swelling in her throat region. She has also been suffering from shortness of breath that worsened over time. At first, the doctor gave her medication for symptomatic relief but she didn’t get well. Later, upon consulting another doctor, her ailment was diagnosed as Multinodular Goiter. Multinodular goiter is an enlarged thyroid gland on the front of the neck where there are many lumps (nodules) that appear within it. This is the most common thyroid gland disorder.
The doctor has advised Naseem to undergo a Subtotal Thyroidectomy. Subtotal Thyroidectomy is a surgical procedure in which the majority of the thyroid gland is removed. However, the surgeon leaves some parts of the thyroid tissue to achieve a normal thyroid function.
Unfortunately, Naseem cannot afford the hefty cost of her surgery. She is a housewife and her husband is the only breadwinner of the house. He is a butcher and he earns a total of PKR. 13,000 per month. In times when inflation is rampant, one can hardly make the ends meet with this mere income. Naseem told us:
“I have been suffering from this monstrous disease for the last three years. Even breathing is sometimes difficult and painful for me. I am tired of using medicines but the doctor said surgery is the only solution. Whoever is reading this, I request you to please help me.”
After a lot of distress, they have registered their case with Transparent Hands. We hope that we will be able to arrange free surgery for her. As, Naseem Nazeer awaits Thyroidectomy, therefore, we request you to please donate for her subtotal thyroidectomy and ease her life.
