Abdul Hadi's Story
Abdul Hadi, a 1-year-old boy from Faisalabad, has been living with severe health issues since birth. His parents noticed early on that even mild physical activity, like crawling or playing, left him breathless and exhausted. While other children of his age were growing stronger, Abdul Hadi seemed weak. Recently, after a series of detailed diagnostic tests at a specialized cardiac center, Abdul Hadi was diagnosed with multiple serious heart conditions — Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP), Severe Mitral Regurgitation (MR), and Pulmonary Hypertension (PHT). Together, these conditions significantly strain his little heart, making it difficult for his heart to circulate blood properly.
The doctor has recommended two major procedures: VSD closure and Mitral Valve (MV) repair during open-heart surgery. These procedures are critical to correct these defects and will allow his heart to function normally. Unfortunately, his family can’t afford this costly surgery.
Without surgical intervention, Abdul Hadi’s condition will continue to worsen. It may potentially lead to heart failure, developmental delays, and a reduced lifespan.
Abdul Hadi’s father works as a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 14,000 per month. The family lives in a modest home with no additional sources of income. Every rupee they earn is spent on daily essentials, leaving them with no savings to cover the cost of such a complex and expensive cardiac surgery. Despite their best efforts, Abdul Hadi’s family feels helpless against the overwhelming financial burden.
Abdul Hadi’s parents said in despair:
“Our son’s heart is too weak and unable to lead a healthy life like other kids. We dream of seeing him run and play without feeling fatigued and breathless, but we can’t afford the surgery. We ask you to be generous and help our son undergo the surgery.”
