Currently, twenty-seven years old Sumaira Rashid is twenty-nine weeks pregnant. Due to some complications in her past pregnancies, her previous two children were born through C Sections. Seeing her medical record, now, the gynaecologist has advised Sumaira to undergo a C Section again. Cesarean section, also known as C section, or cesarean delivery, is the surgical procedure by which the baby is delivered through an incision in the mother’s abdomen. The doctor has advised Sumaira a C Section because vaginal delivery would put the baby or mother at risk.
But, unfortunately, Sumaira Rashid and her family cannot afford the hefty cost of a C Section. Sumaira’s husband is the sole earner of the family. He works at a private office and hardly manages to earn PKR 24000 per month. In this income, he hardly manages the household expenses and utility bills. Therefore, he is in no position to arrange for his wife’s C Section. Sumaira told us:
“I am very excited to welcome a new baby into our family but the worries of him not being safe and healthy keeps hovering over my head. Please help us.”

Sumaira Rashid's Story
Sumaira Bibi, a 28-year-old resident of Faisalabad, was expecting her third child. Due to her history of two Cesarean section surgeries in the past, the doctor advised an elective cesarean section surgery to save her from risks and to avoid complications. Sumaira’s husband earns barely enough to provide food for the day. Their neighbors told them about Transparent Hands and they reached out to us. We registered Sumaira’s case and sent her to Akram Medical Complex where her baby was delivered by Dr. Asia Nasir on 01-01-2022. Sumaira delivered a healthy baby. Both of them were discharged the following day in satisfactory condition. Sumaira and her baby look forward to a healthy and bright future.
